What is “almond bark”? Is it fake chocolate? Any recipes?

Published by at 1:04 am under chocolate

I bought this Fisher Chocolate Almond Bark today, but I found out that it’s not really “chocolate”. I have chocolate recipe books, but none of the recipes requires Almond Bark. What can I do w/ this? Is this for coating pretzels only? I can’t even find any good recipes online…. Thanks.
They come in chocolate and vanilla flavor (thick bars). You can find them alongside regular chocolates for baking.

Yes it is Fake sorry It is a form of “Chocolate Coating”
and it has a high palm oil content as well which can give it an off taste

dip fruit , pretzels, potato chips. OR
mix it with nuts and make a nutty version or dried fruits and make a fruity version. of Bark,

Almond bark is nothing more than a slab of chocolate with almonds in it. Just melt chocolate and stir almonds into it, pour onto waxed paper, let cool and break into pieces. There is also raisin bark and cranberry bark. Bark is just a name for it.

“bark” is just what it looks similar too. You can make any kind of bark. At Chistmas time I use white chocolate and crushed peppermint sticks for peppermint bark. Almond bark is chocolate with almonds in it then broken in odd pieces.

I don't know what is "almond bark". But if it does contain high levels of
palm oil as mentioned by Janice P,beware——-it is not good for your
    heart.

It's white chocolate; that's the cocoa butter part. You can get it at lots of candy stores simply as a confection. I love it 🙂

Edit: Ok – I see what you mean now. Almond bark is just the kind of candy it is. The kind I'm used to has chocolate (white OR milk OR dark), and there are almonds in it, so it looks like tree bark. As far as I know, it's perfectly ordinary chocolate otherwise. Almond bark is a confection in its own right, so I wouldn't think you'd see recipes for it; you might see recipes to MAKE it, but that's just chocolate and almonds.

It’s awesome. I always use it to make pretty chocolate coated pretzels at christmas along with my cookies. Also, on Valentines Day, I always give my husband chocolate dipped strawberries. Any kind of fruit will do…Also, you can do nuts as well…
